This makes me cringe....

All I see this doing is riling up the reactionaries and making non-theist types look like 'kill-joys'.

Not sure what to do here...

Addendum: There is one good thing that has resulted from this campaign. Making Bill Donohue spout off! *grin* That's always entertaining.

This is the bus slogan campaign right? I read it on Fox News. I agree with your post title: " This makes me cringe." I have no profound words of wisdom on this - except; "Have a Merry Christmas!"

I appreciate the sentiment for what it is and the idea behind the sentiment. :)

It's just people being people. Everybody has a "gospel" of their own and everyone, on some level or another is trying to "make disciples".

It's nothing new, and shouldn't be a particular social offense, especially in a society which (less and less) considers it a virture for people to be able to say what they are thinkin.

It's really sad to me, and presents concepts that apologists need to be analyzing, but that's all.

that'd be 'virtue'.

You continue to surprise me Jason...

...though given what I am learning of you...

Perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise.

I love the holiday season Robert - I look forward to the extra giving sentiment that goes with it. Tam & Brent have some great ideas on her blog today - and - be good for goodness sakes. I wish you were visiting here on our church campgrounds. We have two very live Santa Claus' here! Each one works at a major mall as Santa. They do a great job - neat! Stop by, I will get you an appointment on their lap! LOL

I don't contribute to any religious marketing campaigns.

I will look for a good photo opp once these buses start evangelizing in DC. I'll try to get as many homeless people in the frame as possible, they like to use the bus stop as overnight shelters. What a sad message to deliver to this demographic.

Now I brace for the equally outlandish re-action(s).

Nothing quite says the holidays have arrived like pumpkin pie a la Spock. Served piping hot from the oven with gooey Spock spooned over top and running over the edges, it's impossible to not lick your fingers!

Accompanied by a glass of warm, spiced Tranya, this is a holiday treat that can't be beat.

Think the 'non-theists' brought this one on themselves (being called kill-joys), since they invented the ads?

Precisely my point....

Well my whole motivation for being good is my fear of being consigned to the whims of the basement cat!

If there were no such thing as him I would do whatever I wanted!!!
